SNOWDON CHALLENGE 2007
In mid-Summer 2007, a group of young, and maybe not so young, ladies from Merkinch and South Kessock, otherwise known as the Escape Group, decided to climb up Wales's highest peak, Snowdon (3560ft), after already having climbed Ben Nevis in 2006 and 2007. This climb was also preceded by months of arduous training throughout the Highlands. The day of the Challenge, after what was probably the wettest Summer for a number of years, proved dry and reasonably clear, with a light welcome breeze. It was yet another fantastic day for the ladies and a significant mile-stone in their continuing development as experienced walkers. The ladies are now looking forward to climbing the French Alps in 2008! Go for it, ladies!
