BEN NEVIS CHALLENGE 2005

In mid-Summer 2005, a group of young, and maybe not so young, ladies from Merkinch and South Kessock, otherwise known as the Escape Group, decided to climb up the UK's highest peak, Ben Nevis (4408ft). This climb was preceded by months of arduous training throughout the Highlands. The day of the Challenge, after what was an initially wet Summer, proved clear and sunny, with a light welcome breeze. It was a fantastic day for the ladies and a personal triumph for them all. Since then the ladies have gone from strength to strength, climbing the Ben once again in Summer 2006, and Snowdon, Wales's highest peak, in 2007. The ladies hope to conquer the French Alps in Summer 2008. Somebody, stop them!
